Oltre 3.000 la media giornaliera, e oltre il 25% rappresentato da giovani under 26. Il primo giorno di apertura, sabato 4 giugno, si è svolta la cerimonia di premiazione: tra i premi assegnati, Leone d'oro a Christian Marclay, Miglior partecipazione nazionale al padiglione della Germania, Leone d'argento a Haroon Mirza. On 22nd June, just 18 days after the opening, over 50,000 visitors have already visited the Art Biennale, ILLUMInations. The daily average is over 3,000, out of which over 25% is under 26 years of age. On the first day of opening, Saturday 4th June, the awards ceremony took place: among the participants awarded are Christian Marclay (Golden Lion), the pavilion of Germany (Best national participation), and Haroon Mirza (Silver Lion).  CINEMA   Verso la 68. Mostra   /   Towards the 68th Venice Film Festival The Ides of March, l'atteso film scritto e diretto da George Clooney, è il film di apertura - in Concorso - della 68. Mostra del Cinema. Sarà presentato in prima mondiale la sera del 31 agosto nella Sala Grande, a seguire la cerimonia di apertura. • Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Carlo Mazzacurati e Roberta Torre sono stati nominati Presidenti di giuria delle sezioni Orizzonti, Venezia Opera Prima e Controcampo Italiano. • Studenti universitari italiani e stranieri di tutte le facoltà: potranno richiedere entro il 21 luglio un accredito cinema, al costo di 60 euro, valido per le stesse proiezioni previste per “tutti gli accrediti”. The Ides of March, the highly anticipated new film written & directed by George Clooney, will be the opening film – in Competition – at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. The pic will have its world premiere screening on the evening of August 31st in the Palazzo del Cinema, following the opening ceremony. • Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Carlo Mazzacurati and Roberta Torre have been appointed Jury Presidents for the sections Orizzonti, Venice Award for a Debut Film, and Controcampo Italiano. • University students from Italy and abroad, all faculties: they can apply by 21st July for a pass (cost: 60 euro) granting admission to the same screenings qualified as accessible by “all accredited visitors”. Festival Internazionale di Musica Contemporanea si terrà dal 24 settembre al 1° ottobre , diretto da Luca Francesconi. Il Leone d'oro alla carriera sarà consegnato a Peter Eötvös; il programma completo sarà annunciato mercoledì 6 luglio (conferenza stampa a Roma presso la sala del Refettorio della Chiesa di Santa Marta al Collegio Romano, ore 12). • La Biennale offrirà particolari agevolazioni agli studenti di Conservatori e Università (gruppo minimo 20 persone tra docenti e studenti): previsti abbonamenti ai concerti, ingresso agli incontri, assistenza. Festival Internazionale del Teatro (10 > 16 ottobre). Info: promozione@labiennale.org German Director Thomas Ostermeier, at the head of the Schaubühne in Berlin since 1999, is the winner of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the 41st International Theatre Festival (Venice, 10 > 16 October 2011). Swiss director Stefan Kaegi and Rimini Protokoll, the artistic collective based in Berlin, have been awarded the Silver Lion, established last year to honour new theatrical realities. Workshops at the 41st Festival with Stefan Kaegi, Josef Nadj, Virgilio Sieni, Will Keen, Carlos Marquerie, and Alex Serrano: applications to be sent by 9th July. • The Festival will offer concessions to students of universities and other high-level academic institutions. Info:promozione@labiennale.org  DANZA / DANCE   Arsenale della Danza 2011-2012   /   Arsenale della Danza 2011-2012 Le attività di Arsenale della Danza proseguono con le audizioni per la sessione di masterclass di gennaio-maggio 2012: a Vienna (6 agosto) e Venezia (22 ottobre). • L'ultimo appuntamento con gli spettacoli di Arsenale della Danza 2011 si è svolto il 24 e 25 giugno (Teatro Piccolo Arsenale, ore 20): Emanuel Gat, uno dei maggiori coreografi della scena internazionale, ha presentato in prima assoluta Brilliant Corners. The Arsenale della Danza continues its activities with the auditions for the next master class session, to be held January-May 2012. Auditions to take place in Vienna (6th August) and Venice (22nd October). • The premiere of Brilliant Corners by Emanuel Gat Dance (24th-25th June at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale) brought to an end the performances in the Dance program 2011.
